Epic Summer

At the beginning of summer I had read and article about "Mom's summer bucket lists." Basically it talked about how Moms are stressing themselves out trying to do this and do that. I decided that I wanted to do something everyday, but most days were very simple like playing on the slip n slide, or baking cookies together. We did go on a lot of "field trips" too, over all we had a really fun summer, and I'm a lil sad that its coming to an end. These are highlights from our summer:
We enjoyed many trips to the park, hanging out in the backyard, and playing with cousins and friends...

JJ at his first scout camp

JJ got to go canyoneering with Dad, Uncle Jeff, and Uncle Ryan
JJ lost his second tooth on this trip!

Spending the day at the rec center is always one of our favorite activities!

We had an epic adventure starting with a float down the river, followed by a bike ride, and a stop at Bridal Veil Falls! What a day!!!

I wanted to throw in some "field trips" that we could learn about animals ect...
We went to the aquarium, planetarium, farm, dinosaur museum, children's museum,  zoo, and the curiosity museum!

JJ got to canoe the Green River with Spencer!!!

We did a lot of hiking...

And here we are at the top of the world, well maybe just Snowbird!

A Beach Birthday

Little Cy Cy turned 3 while we were on vacation in California. We ended up spending the day at the beach. Cy loved the beach! Cy loves to dig, so he really enjoyed the beach!!! However he didn't enjoy the ocean much.

Cy is so lovable and awesome! We can't go anywhere with out someone commenting on his deep voice. Perhaps it has something to do with the volume? :) Cy is heard around here, loud and clear. He is a smart little dude, funny, and sweet. Cy loves to dig, build towers, make tunnels and forts, he loves to wrestle and be tickled, and he loves to climb. Cy is such a joy! Love you Buddy!!!

Eva is 6!

My Tweety Bird is 6 years old! Eva was so excited about her birthday this year, we talked about it everyday, and ultimately we made a countdown chain. Eva really wanted two things for her birthday, she really wanted a piñata, and to go swimming. She got a piñata, got to go swimming, and got to go to Chuck E Cheese (her favorite place to go). She had a great time!

Eva is such a sweet girl! She is a great sister and pretty much always will do what others want to do, she just really enjoys playing with others. Eva really enjoys playing with Barbies, movie nights, going on bike rides, swimming, and hanging out with her family. Her favorite food is mac n cheese, she loves pink, and she's now in the first grade. She just started school this week, and it's been a lil hard on me. I was not prepared for her to be gone ALL day, she brings so much laughter and happiness to our home, and I miss that! I love you Eva! I hope this year is your best yet!

We are a happy family!

Ana is growing up too fast! She's starting to talk A LOT! She says: NO!, Yes, Uh huh, help, baby, shoes, ball, thank you, Momma, mom, mommy, daddy, dada, hut the door (shut the door), and she sings, "Let it go!"

In our family we have a lot of nick names, when she was an infant she was called: Ana Boo Boo, Ana Baby, Baby Girl, and Bananasauraus Rex. Now we call her, Banana, Nana, Nani, and Bulana (Cy), which evolved into Bulani.

Cy is FULL of energy! He is quite the character, he loves to tease, and he is silly. He really loves attention, I tell him all the time, "your cool", "your handsome", "your sweet", so forth. The only complement he likes is: "Your Awesome!!!"
Cy has a huge vocabulary, but he has a few of his own cyisms:
Frogit = Frog
Ogurt = Yogurt
Merlecycle = Motocycle
Plano = Plano
Computering = working on the computer
Cy has many nicknames too: Cy Cy, Bunny, Ted Bunny, Chicken Nugget, Smiley Cyrus

Eva just finished Kindergarten, she had a wonderful year, and will miss her teacher. She recently participated in her dance recital, she enjoyed a Jazz/Ballet/Tumbling class this year, but she is looking forward to participating in gymnastics this coming year. She was signed up for soccer this spring, she didn't play much, she doesn't enjoy competitive sports. Eva loves to sing, and has enjoyed her music lessons. Eva is such a sweetheart!
We call Eva: Eva Pretty, The Pretty, Beauticon, and Tweety Bird

JJ just went to his first cub scout camp this week. This year JJ was VERY excited to summer to start, 2nd grade was not his best year, he struggled with boredom all year. This past year JJ started piano, I have been impressed with how quickly he has learned, I really enjoy the music in the home! JJ has become an amazing soccer player, it was so much fun to watch him play this year! JJ nearly made it out of the second grade without loosing a tooth.
We don't use nicknames much for JJ, but some of our favorites are: Monkey, Speedster, Smarty Pants, Professor, Mr JJ, and Eva just calls him J.

We are all excited about a summer full of fun!

We've got ourselves a rider!

This weekend we went on our first bike ride of the year. Over the winter Cy mastered riding the tricycle in the basement. He recently started riding Eva's old two wheeler (with training wheels of course), so I told Spencer we aught to let Cy ride rather than sit in the trailer for our bike ride. Cy did amazing, it was probably the best day of his life. You could see that he so enjoyed the freedom, and it didn't hurt that we stopped at 4 parks along the way. I think our little buddy ended up biking 1.5 miles. I'm pretty proud of the little dude!

Spring Break

For Spring Break we kind of took a last minute trip to Phoenix. Why Phoenix? Well the weather was 90 degrees while we were there. We didn't go to visit anyone, or go anywhere in particular, we went to spend sometime as a family, and to soak up the sun. We had a great time. We spent pretty much every second we weren't traveling at the pool. The kids LOVE to swim! Here are some pics from the trip…

Lots of pit stops! We would find somewhere for the kids to run around or play. We also took their scooters/skate boards, seriously genius! :)

Fun in Phoenix!
