Eva Update!

So I've been way behind on posting, so I kind of decided to break it down by kiddo. Eva just finished her first year of Preschool, she loves preschool, and will miss it a lot this summer. I'm a little glad that I won't have to be constantly running around for a while. Between the Kindergarten schedule and Eva's Preschool schedule we did a lot of running around this year.

Last Thursday Eva had a dance recital, and is out for the summer, she might miss dance even more than preschool. This was her first year taking Pre-Ballet. At Christmas they had a performance, which was her first time on a stage, she was funny, and just twirled the whole time. This time around you could see her growth and that she actually knew the routine. She does parts of it over and over again everyday. I love it! I love to see that she has an interest her own, and not her big brothers! She's my little Princess!

Explore in our backyard...

ok, not literally. But have you lived somewhere for a long time, in my case my whole life, and never been something an hour away? I think this happens all to often. I know a lot of people who have never been skiing in their life, and live 1/2 hour away from the greatest snow on earth. Yes, it's expensive, I didn't go skiing until I was 19, and I could pay for myself. The point? In Utah we live SO close to some amazing national and state parks, and some of the best recreation in the country!!! Get out and explore! We have some good friends from India, Brejesh & Reena, they have collectively lived here about 10 years, and they have been many places we've never been. A few weeks ago we had them over for dinner and we got to talking about Antelope Island, well neither Spencer or I could ever remember going there, and we told them that we had talked about going there. Thanks to Reena, she set a date for a picnic and we met at Antelope Island. We had a great time eating dinner, about 20 yards from a few Bison friends! We also saw Antelope, deer, and cottontails. After dinner we hiked to Bison Point to watch the sunset over the Great Salt Lake, WOW!!!! I think that might be the most beautiful place to watch a sunset in Utah! It was amazing! JJ said, "All my dreams have come true!" When you get to the top of Bison Point there is boulder after boulder after boulder, and boy does my boy love to climb!!! He was in heaven. Today The kids were talking about going to Chuck E Cheese for Eva's birthday and JJ says, "Mom, I want to go to Antelope Island for my birthday!" Poor guy has a winter birthday, so I'm not sure that's going to happen. But we will go again, I think next time we might take our bikes, sounds good to me!

Brejesh and Reena ALWAYS bring the kids donuts, it's a little treat they get from their Indian Aunt and Uncle! :)

From Model Baby to Monster

Cy was my Model Baby for about 6 months, he would sleep through the night, was a good eater, and just an over all happy baby. Right after Christmas he got sick and has since had many ear infections, and on top of that he's teething. He has his two bottom front teeth, and has four coming in on the top. He's been on the move for sometime now, on Mother's day he decided to climb the stairs, needless to say, the gates are up. Everyday he would attach the door stop until the little white piece would come off, and of course it would go straight to his mouth. We just have many places where there is no door stop. He also loves to take out the furnace vent under our kitchen sink, can't tell you how many times I've kicked or tripped on that stupid thing! He is such a handful!!! We now call him a monster, or monstrosity. He is as adorable as ever, but such a handful!!!

New York!!!!

Spencer sent me an email one day entitled, "CONGRATULATIONS!!! You're finally going to NYC!" Now you must know I've wanted to go to NYC for a long, long time. I was totally jealous of Spencer when he went there about 6 month ago for work. Well, when Spencer sent me this email I was soooo excited, but the best part... Spencer won the American Express President's Enterprise Growth Award, and they sent Spencer and I out there for free!!! I am so proud of Spencer, he has almost been at American Express for a year, and he's already kicking butt!!!
We had tons of fun in New York! We got to stay at the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park, the Statue of Liberty was right outside our window. On the day of the awards presentation we went to lunch on the 50th floor of the Amex building, we had a wonderful lunch, the view from the tower was cool, you could look across the street at the World Trade Center Memorial, we also saw it up close. After lunch they took us to see the Broadway show, How to succeed in business without really trying, it was a great show! To finish off the day we had a party/dinner at the Ritz, it felt like we were royalty for the day!

The rest of our trip was all play. We went to the Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park, The David Letterman Show, and Wicked on Broadway. We had a great time, but we sure missed the kids, thanks to Grandma Shauna, who had lots of kids at her house, and also to Grandma Julia!
